There is 24 hour a day government electricity, and its actually stable. Most of the people I know in Lang Khaii who use the power report no problems and have no stablizers. We also have no AC in our houses which may help matters. Many areas on Koh Tao have very spikey power, ranging from 120v to 240v. Lang Khaii seems to be spared these problems.

Install time for government electric is about 1 month and the cost is about 40,000b. 28,000b for the cable, and 12,000b for the install.

I have my cables installed and I am willing to let someone use my power lines until theirs are installed. My neighbors let me do the same while I was building.

We currently use very old wooden poles which are now becoming overcrowded. We have plans to put in concrete poles in 2008. They should cost under 8000b per resident.
